The Untold Peaks of Bukit Kilim

Bukit Kilim is one of Langkawi’s best-kept hiking secrets – a rugged cluster of eight different peaks, often mistaken as one single hill. Many visitors assume it’s just a simple trail with a few side tracks. In reality, each Kilim trail leads to a separate peak, with its own terrain, challenges, and rewards.

Bukit Kilim – The Untold Peaks of Langkawi

At Langkawi Wild Buddy, we offer guided hikes to six of these peaks: Kilim 1, Kilim 2, Kilim 3, Kilim 5, Kilim 6, and the main Bukit Kilim trail. Each route requires good physical condition, proper hiking gear, and is led by a certified mountain guide (Malim Gunung).

Although Bukit Kilim has 8 known peaks, the local authority currently allows only up to Peak 7 to be operated legally for hiking adventure. Access beyond that is restricted for conservation and safety reasons.

What Makes Bukit Kilim Special?

Trails with different adventures – Some trails share the same entry and exit point, while others have their own separate access. Each one leads to a distinct peak with its own character and challenge.

Not an easy hike – Some trails involve scrambling, steep ascents, or rope sections.

Each peak is unique – There’s no shortcut or direct connection between peaks. Each hike is a separate journey.

Incredible biodiversity – Expect to see unique plants, wildlife, and amazing views over Kilim Karst Geoforest Park, the mangrove rivers, and even the southern coast of Thailand from certain peaks.

Don’t Be Fooled

Many guests arrive thinking this is just a short walk or a viewpoint stop. But Bukit Kilim is the real deal – raw, adventurous, and untouched by mainstream tourism. If you love jungle hiking, rock climbing, geology, and authentic off-track nature, this is your playground.
